St. John’s Lutheran School is partnering with the Lutheran Special Education Ministries (LSEM) to service our students. Since not all children learn in the same way, the teachers of LSEM are specially trained to identify and teach these students.

Mr. Larry Timm

St. John’s Lutheran School is excited to have Mr. Larry Timm  as our LSEM teacher.  He comes with a career full of expertise to teach our students and is an important part of our educational program here at St. John’s.

MISSION

Lutheran Special Education Ministries (LSEM) is a Registered Service Organization of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.  Since founding in 1873 as the Lutheran School for the Deaf in Detroit, their mission has been to meet the specialized educational needs of children while allowing them to learn and grow in a Christ-centered academic setting.  Today, LSEM partners with schools and congregations around the world, providing certified resource room teachers, special education consultation, professional development and informational opportunities for classroom teachers, pastors, and families.

VISION

Their ministry’s vision is to provide children the opportunity to grow academically and spiritually regardless of the challenges they may face.

As the leaders of LSEM look to the future, they know that there is a great potential for growth. Studies show that one student in five has a learning challenge. The law guarantees these children a public education. For families that choose a Christian education, LSEM is eager to partner with families to help meet their needs.
