Youth Confirmation Classes

  • Students in grades 7 & 8 from public or home schooling have “Confirmation Class” one evening each week from September through early May
  • Students in grades 7 & 8 who attend St. John’s Lutheran School s have confirmation instruction several times per week
  • Youth Confirmation teaches the  tenets of Christian faith from Luther’s Small Catechism
  • Classes are taught by Pastor Dan Kempin, Pastor Josh Parsons, and Anna Kruger, our Director of Family Life
  • During the course of the school year we pray that the Lord will transform us through the study of His Word – click here for suggested Bible readings. As we seek to become students of the Word of God, sitting under its authority, we will discuss what God has to say His Law, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, topics covered in the Apostle’s Creed, God’s gift of Baptism, the Lord’s Supper, The Lord’s prayer, Confession and Absolution, and the 10 Commandments.

Youth Confirmation Activities

  • Prayer Mentors: Our 2025-26 Confirmation year is in full swing! We have a great group of 7th and 8th graders who are studying God’s Word as they prepare to make their public confession of faith.  Every year we pair students with a  Prayer Mentor from our family of faith at St. John’s. Prayer Mentors commit to pray intentionally for their student.
  • Mentors and students will have opportunities to get to know one another during special events throughout the year:

Adult Confirmation

A six-week series of classes is offered a couple times a year for adults who wish to become members of St. John’s Lutheran Church.  For information please contact the church office.
