Travel Day
Ten people and luggage left early to travel to Phnom Penh from Kampot , about a 4 ½ hour drive, today. We had a pizza lunch – American and Cambodia style. There were small “hot dogs” rolled in the outer crust. Yummy!
Pastor Conference in Phnom Penh
This afternoon Pastor Dan was put to work leading a Pastor’s conference. About 25 pastors and their wives and some of the children attended. Part 1 was on the 4th commandment. He stressed how pastors need to maintain the proper order of love between wife, children, parents, and church. Part 2 was on Gal. 5:16 to 6:10. He compared the job of a pastors to a gardener. Gardeners provide water and nourishment to plants or trees (church members). The gardener does not make the fruit. God makes the fruit. The pastor does not make the church. The church belongs to Christ. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, and peace. Anna and Julie presented a visual faith (visual prayer) presentation. The goal is to focus prayer thoughts on paper and keep the prayer visible during each day.
Cambodia food is delicious
If you have never attended a pastor conference, maybe you should. All is not work. They get awesome food! The fresh fruits are … you need to go on a mission trip to experience. The Cambodian food dishes for dinner are like going out for Indian, Thai, and Chinese food all at the same meal. We had a delicious pumpkin, tapioca, and coconut milk dessert.
Please pray for Gods’ blessing on the Cambodian pastors, their wives, and families.
We had a tuk tuk ride from the conference back to the hotel. A tuk tuk is the motorized version of the rickshaw. It was a long, but productive day, including our travel to Phnom Penh, leading a 50-person conference, and eating a lot!
