Our St. John’s Lutheran Church Cambodia 2020 mission team of six will be traveling to Stronghold Cambodia on Wednesday, January 8, 2020. We ask for your prayers for safe travels during their LOOOONG trip of around 18 hours! Anyone who has traveled on a plane knows how uncomfortable it is to be scrunched in a seat for a few hours. But can you imagine going half-way around the world! Besides that, all six are tall people and there are not that many “emergency exit” seats. Who will be the lucky ones to get the extra leg room?
Another airplane travel concern is luggage. Will everyone’s stuff make all the same connections and get to Cambodia the same time they do? And by the way, how many times do they need to experience a “take-off” on the way to Cambodia? Need to have lots of gum to help with the ear-popping during that phase of the trip. Traveling is so much FUN right? NOT! But once they arrive their work with the people of Cambodia will make it all worthwhile.
We pray that God will use their words and their works to bring the good news of Jesus to the hearts and minds of both children and adults of Cambodia. Some of the activities of the Cambodia 2020 mission trip will include a Pastor’s conference, a children’s Bible school, a youth gathering, mural painting, teaching and learning. And of course, submitting BLOG POSTS for all of us!
We encourage you to PARTICIPATE in the mission by visiting our website often to view pictures and read posts from the Cambodia 2020 mission team as they share their experience with us all of us. Can’t wait to hear about their Cambodia journey – how exciting!
